The History of OM (Marseille)
Founded in 1899, Olympique de Marseille has a rich tradition and a successful history. In addition to ten national titles, they remain to this day the only French club to win the Champions League, which they won in 1993.
Although Marseille was officially established in 1892, it was not until 1899 that the football department was introduced to the club. So generally speaking, it was established in 1899. Marseille's first trophy was in the 1920s, and the three French Cups in 1924, 1926, and 1927 seemed to herald their growing trend, and in 1929 they won their first French title. And between 1935 and 1948, he won the Ligue 1 twice and the French Cup three times.
Marseille's first peak was in the late 1960s, when Marcel Leclerc was president. Under his leadership, Marseille quickly established itself as one of the best clubs in the country. During this period, Marseille won two Ligue 1 titles and two French Cups. But in 1972, Marcel Leclerc resigned due to disagreements with the club's board. And the departure of Marcel Leclerc also ushered in the beginning of an era of decline, in which Marseille eventually won only one trophy (the French Cup in 1976) for the next 17 years.
The club's fortunes took a turn in 1986 when Bernard Tapie was appointed chairman. Bernard Tapie has made his intentions clear right away - to make Marseille the first team in French football to win the Champions League. In 1993, that dream became reality - Marseille beat Milan in the Champions League final. Meanwhile, Marseille dominated the domestic competition, winning four consecutive Ligue 1 titles and a French Cup between 1989 and 1992.
Bernard Tapie had a decisive impact on the club in 1986 with the introduction of Eric Cantona and Enzo Francescoli and achieved European success in the 1989-90 European Cup semi-finals. Three years later, thanks to Basile Boli's header, Marseille beat AC Milan 1-0 to become France's first-ever European champion. The famous slogan 'À jamais les Premiers' (always the first) was born. Although Marseille is not as good as it used to be, it is still a very good club and OM fans are still waiting for the day when their team will be able to take on arch-rivals Paris Saint-Germain both domestically and in Europe.

club color
If you know a little about Marseille's history, you should be able to see that the current coat of arms is very similar to the one that was first used in 1899. And according to their names, it can be known that the Olympic spirit has a great influence on this club. Most of the team's jerseys were chosen in white to reflect the purity of the Olympic spirit, and the players first wore black shorts and socks, then white shorts and blue socks. But the club's "away" kits have always been all blue, albeit in different shades.
