Adidas and the Mexican Football Federation (FMF) jointly released the new home jersey of the Mexico national team for the 2022 World Cup today, and the World Cup journey officially started.

Design of Mexico 2022 kit
The Adidas Mexico 2022 World Cup home kit is green with white shorts and red socks, bringing back Mexico's iconic colors. The Mexico 2022 home shirt also features the new crest of the Mexican national team. The jersey is embellished with a Mexican feather headdress, which is a symbol of religion and nobility in the ancient Mexican civilization.
The main design feature of the Mexico 2022 home jersey is a round neck design and red three stripes on the shoulders. The pattern on the back resembles the feathers of the Feather Serpent.
In Mexican culture, Quetzalcoatl is the god of wind, patron of priests, and inventor of calendars and books. Occasionally, he is also depicted as a symbol of death and resurrection. A Quetzalcoatl graphic is also on the back under the collar.
White and red are also used for detailing on the green 2022 Mexico home jersey, in the form of the 3 Stripes on the shoulders, a thin stripe on each side and lower back of the shirt and the Adidas logo on the right chest.
In terms of template, the lateral stripe seen on the new Mexico home shirt indicates that it's the same one we first saw pictured at Bayern Munich back in 2020. This template, or rather variations of it, will be used by all major Adidas teams at the World Cup.

Group C of the 2022 FIFA World Cup will take place from 22 to 30 November 2022. The group consists of Argentina, Saudi Arabia, Mexico and Poland. The top two teams will advance to the round of 16.
